Despite the cool weather on Saturday morning, the Fifth Annual Duck ‘N’ Run, hosted by Blue Valley Community Action (BVCA), was a major success, drawing a large crowd of people to Crystal Springs for a day filled with fun activities and community action.
Rick Nation, CEO of BVCA, explained that this event was started as a way to stay involved in the community, and to celebrate community action.
“This is a family fun day to thank the community for what we’ve been able to accomplish with their help and support,” said Nation. “We’re out here just to have some fun. We may not have gotten the weather we were hoping for, but everyone seemed to have a good time.”
Duck ‘N’ Run is part of a way to recognize National Community Action Month. Nation was pleased with the turnout Saturday, noting that there were more runners registered this year than in previous years. Nation is grateful to have the community continue to show their support for BVCA.
“We get a lot of support from the community with a lot of our programs, which are made to help people going through tough times,” Nation said. “The funds that we raise today will help us continue to offer those programs and services to those in need in all of the nine counties we serve. It’s always fantastic to see the community come together to help Blue Valley Community Action and to help people in need. We are always grateful for their help and support.”
