Cornhusker United Way Announces 2017 Campaign, Fairbury News Now Nebraska NE

Officials with Cornhusker United Way announce the beginning of the 2017 campaign starting September 1. The campaign will continue through October 31.

Cornhusker United Way serves Saline, Butler, Polk, Fillmore, Jefferson, Thayer, Seward, Saunders and rural York Counties. Donations support a wide variety of causes and organizations that work tirelessly to improve the lives of people throughout our communities. Enriching the lives of children and the elderly, eliminating poverty, and breaking the cycle of violence are just a few of the things that United Way organizations do daily. With your support, the possibilities are limitless!

Organizations that secured funding from Cornhusker United Way from the 2016 campaign include: Blue Valley Community Action Partnership, Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties, Saline County Area Transit, Released and Restored, Hope Crisis Center, Friends of Blue Valley, Pioneer Foster Grandparents, Saline County Aging Services, Fillmore County Rural Transit, Kids Connection Childcare, New Beginnings, and the Family and Youth Involvement Center. Organizations may apply each June for membership and assistance. Awards are determined based upon campaign success once all contributions and pledges are gathered.

Individuals and companies that wish to contribute to Cornhusker United Way to help sustain area services may send checks to CUW, P.O. Box 75, Crete, Nebraska 68333 or go on-line to cornhuskerunitedway.org. To schedule a presentation at your place of business, to make a special gift, or for further information, call Scott Bartels at (888) 433-7228. Some employers allow payroll deductions and some may match employee donations. Ask your employer if he or she is participating or inform them to contact Scott Bartels at Cornhusker United Way to set up such a system. Contributions are tax deductible. Help us to help others.
