The Community of Diller welcomed a brand new business to the town this month; a business that provides a new option for parents seeking professional child care.
After months of renovations and preparations, the Little Griffins Daycare Center is now open. Crystal Snyder, who owns the business, attended school in Diller. She is excited about the new venture and opening a business in the town she loves.
“It’s been kind of hectic, but it is all worth it,” Snyder said. “I’ve always wanted to go bigger with business, but I didn’t know exactly how to do that. We just kept working at it and got everything lined up. Now, we just need some more kids.”
The building that is now the Little Griffins Daycare, was once a feature of the elementary school. When Diller-Odell Public Schools announced the construction on a new fitness center in Diller, Snyder acquired the building, relocated it and renovated it to serve as the daycare.
“When we first started, this was actually the music room at the elementary school when I was in grade school,” said Snyder. “Pretty much everyone in Diller has been in this building for their music classes. Now, we’re right across from the school, which is a great location. It’s all perfect!”
Snyder explained that they will be able to have up to 25 kids at the daycare, which will require three full-time employees. She is also looking into hiring high school students to help at the daycare after school. People who are interested in learning more about the daycare are encouraged to contact Snyder at 402-793-KIDS (5437). She is excited about the opportunity to help kids in Diller continue to grow.
“We want to help kids learn so that they are ready to go to preschool,” Snyder said. “We’re going to have a blast while doing that too. We’re planning a lot of fun activities, including some field trips. Diller is a perfect place. I grew up here, and I couldn’t be any more happier to open a business here where I grew up.”
