With the District Music Contest approaching fast, students from Diller-Odell had the chance to practice their musical pieces at Tri County during the 2017 MUDECAS Music Contest.
Tiffany Schoenrock, Music Educator at Diller-Odell, explained that she is glad students had the opportunity to receive feedback from the judges to see how they can improve their performances.
“MUDECAS is a contest that helps prepare students to perform at districts,” said Schoenrock. “All of the judges here have been giving comments on the students’ performances to help the kids better their solo or group performances at the district level.”

Schoenrock was impressed by her students performances, noting that there has not been a lot of time to work on the pieces since the Diller-Odell Girls Basketball Team made it to state. She is grateful that Tri County hosted the contest this year, noting that it provided some unique opportunities for her students.
“It’s been a hard transition, coming off of state basketball and going right into track season,” Schoenrock said. “We’re doing better than I expected we would do. Tri County has done an excellent job hosting this event. It’s amazing to perform at a school with an auditorium. I want to give a huge shout out to Nate (Morrissey) and Karen (Reynnolds, Music Educators at Tri County High School) for all the work that they’ve done to make this contest go well.
