Saturday gave kids from all over the chance to test their baseball skills as the Fairbury Optimist Club hosted its annual Pitch, Hit and Run competition on Saturday.

Kaison Ambrose won in each of the categories in the boys 7/8 division, claiming the title of overall winner.
The boys 9/10 group saw a number of competitors. There was a three-way tie for first place in the pitching category between Dalton VanLaningham, Dominic Joe and Drew Watson. Drew Watson took first place in the hitting category, sending the ball flying just over 80 feet. Dalton VanLaningham took first in the running competition with a time of 7.16 seconds. Drew Watson was the overall winner.
Cobie Cole became the overall winner of the girls 11/12 division after winning in each of the categories.
Noah Hyson swept the boys 11/12 division, winning in each of the competitions.
In the boys 13/14 division, Kazz Hyson took first place in pitching, hitting four targets, Dominic Hyson took first in hitting, sending the baseball 165.45 feet, and Zane Grizzle took first in running with a time of 6.55. The overall winner of the boys 13/14 competition was Dominic Hyson.
Jami Mans swept the girls 13/14 division, taking first place in each of the categories.
