The Diller-Odell Griffins went to Tri County ready to play football, facing off against the Trojans Thursday night. They played hard, allowing Tri County into the end zone only one time for the night, scoring a major win.
In the first quarter, Tri County scored a touchdown to start the game, after picking up a ball fumbled by the Griffins. With a successful point after, they put seven points on the board. However, the Griffins were quick to respond with a touchdown and a two point conversion. The Griffins scored another touchdown in the first quarter, and another two-point conversion, bringing the score to 16-7 at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, Tri County’s defense tried to hold off the Griffins, but they were unable to. At the end of the half, the Griffins led against the Trojans with a score of 38-7.
In the third quarter, Tri County’s Cooper Smith broke 1,000 rushing yards this season. The Griffins scored one more time in the game, claiming a victory with the final score of 44-7.

During halftime, Tri County recognized its girls cross country team, which qualified to compete at the state meet in Kearney on Friday.
