Little Blue NRD Declares Water Emergency

little blue nrd, Water Emergency Downgraded, Fairbury News Now Nebraska

From the Little Blue Natural Resources District:

The Little Blue Public Water Project is experiencing heavy water demand; the use has expanded 20% during the week of June 13. This was not fully anticipated or expected. By the project’s emergency plan we must move to Stage Three, a Water Emergency, for the upcoming weekend of June 16 through the 20. “Outdoor use of water shall be stopped, only the use for sanitary human consumption and domestic livestock will be allowed. Any losses, even those such as toilet valves or faucet gaskets, should be curtailed.”

The Project’s pumps and towers will be monitored daily, use must not increase. This has to be done to avoid risk of pressure loss. This notice replaces all notices previously provided, look for more updates early next week.
