A new security company has opened its doors in Fairbury, promising some of the best security for events in Jefferson County.
The company, called Nebraska Security Services, got its start during the Fourth of July Celebration in Fairbury, offering their services for the Summer Blues Festival. Don Cook, who formed the company, is excited to see the beginning of a bright future for the business.
“Some people here in Fairbury decided that there should be some security officers available for certain programs and events throughout the year,” said Cook. “We decided that we want to be there for people to help out with their security needs. That’s why we decided to offer our services to people by starting this company.”
Cook notes that the company is for hire for events at any kind of venue or even to watch equipment. He emphasized that they are willing to cover anything.
“The only limitation we have is finding people to hire,” Cook said. “It’s kind of hard in a smaller community to find people who are looking for full time work, but we have a lot of part timers. We prefer to have people who have been trained in security, or who have worked in security before. We also are willing to hire certified police officers part time, or military veterans. Basically, if they’ve been around security or law enforcement, that’s who we want to hire because we want to keep people safe.”
People who are in need of help from Nebraska Security Services are encouraged to contact Cook at 402-587-1618.
