On November 4, 2017, Jefferson County Dispatch received a 911 call of a two vehicle accident with injuries at the North Junction of Highway 4 and Highway 15. Daykin Fire and Rescue responded to the incident as well as the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival at the scene it was discovered that there were no injuries present.

Investigation into the accident led deputies to believe that the first vehicle, driven by Alex Paus of Fairfield Nebraska was turning south from Highway 4 onto Highway 15. Paus failed to yield the right of way and his vehicle was struck by another vehicle driven by Donald Northcott of Raymond Nebraska. Northcott’s vehicle came to rest in the east ditch of Highway 15, while Paus’s vehicle rolled several times and came to rest to the east of Highway 15 on a gravel road.

No injuries occurred and the Driver Alex Paus was cited and released from the scene for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
