During this Thanksgiving Holiday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the nationwide Click It or Ticket Campaign. The event runs from November 20, 2017 to November 26, 2017. During this time period you will see increased patrols enforcing traffic laws, specifically for seatbelt violations. This event is funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) and allows officers to work extra time to ensure all motorists are buckled up. The goal of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is to increase seatbelt usage in hopes of decreasing injury and fatality accidents. From all of us at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope everyone travels safely. Remember, buckle up and decrease your chances of being seriously injured if involved in a motor vehicle accident.
